First time dining in downtown Suffolk. I’m giving a 5 star review because of food and service. I got the steak sandwich and fries. Steak was real strip steak thickly sliced and on a brioche bun (nice alternative to the regular sub roll). Steak was cooked perfect and was tender…not at all chewy like most cheap-cut steak sandwiches. Fries were hand-cut and tasty. I love that they had malt vinegar on the table for my fries (like any good pub should!). Prices are super reasonable for both food and the beers on tap. Server Rylee W. was great; everyone very friendly. Nice place to stop for some good food or grab a drink while you’re in Suffolk.
I have been patronizing this establishment since my first time in 2011. Back then the burgers were amazing and did not disappoint. Fast forward 10 years and the food is still amazing and consistent. The wing nights aren't bad either. Best spot in Suffolk.
We were a no reservation walk-in party of twelve,And service was excellent. Food: both appetizers and main dinners/entrées were all fabulous, and good assortment of drinks and beers. Definitely a place to return to.
I ordered the fried chicken wrap with pasta salad. The wrap wasn't anything special but the pasta salad was pretty good. My husband ordered a small pizza and that was also tasty. The mixed drinks were delicious but the jalapeno poppers were also nothing special. They table we sat at felt like it was about to fall over. The waitress wasn't tentative at all. We sat with empty cups while she was chatting it up with other employees for 10-15 mins. We also waited a long while for the check and we could see her on her phone in the kitchen the whole time. It's like she didn't even want a tip (she still got one but it wasn't as much as we would have liked to have given her). I get its a pub but we wanted to try something local but we will not be going back.
I like Baron's Pub. The food is good. Burgers are great. Had the NC burger. Very pleased with it. Also ordered fried pickles. They are good but are weird to eat because they are spears and the breading falls off when you cut it. I would prefer dill chips personally. Dirty chips were a solid choice. Wife got blackened shrimp salad. She wasn't impressed. Needed a better salad mix. Service was really good. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
