I am new to the area and have only eaten from one restaurant until today. I have been wanting a good burger but I am super picky! I decided to take a chance on the "Celtic Tiger Burger" and it did not disappoint! The burger itself tasted fresh not over seasoned and not under seasoned and it was cooked absolutely perfectly. I opted for the bacon because, why not? The bacon was perfectly crispy, the lettuce and tomato were fresh and the grilled onions were a nice touch. I always like a brioche roll but I have to say I feel like the potato roll gave it a little something extra that I really enjoyed. Another thing I took a chance on was the season fries. I hate seasoned fries and getting it to go, they always end up mushy and gross. Nope, not these! Perfectly seasoned and super crispy! The host was very friendly and even put a soufflé cup of ketchup in my bag for me which I thought very nice of him. He didn't have to and I didn't request it. Yes I know it is silly to go on about a burger like this, but it is truly one of the best I have had in years! I am really looking forward to trying everything else on their menu and will certainly be back soon!!
My son absolutely enjoyed his corned beef n cabbage with potato masher n gravy. I had the burger with potato wedges which was also good. However, we kept getting a cold draft from people going in and out the patio doors.
I want to know the name of the one that came up with the fish and chips recipe... And the Tartar sauce... And the Reuben Spring Rolls. I need to thank that person from the bottom of my heart. This place has some of the best food I’ve had in Chesapeake, and they’re brand new. Unfortunately the only thing wrong is that they had the poor fortune to open just as the pandemic started. I have no doubt we’re it not for that but if timing they would be a well known local favorite by now with a packed dining room every night.
So good and the staff is so nice. Since we live in chesapeake now this will probably become our new hangout after work or for a quick beer.
First time trying this place did not disappoint! My husband and I are mad we haven't been sooner! My husband got the Gaelic Boxty and I had the Chicken Kiev both were excellent!! My chicken was very tender and had a wonderful crust on the outside. I would make a suggestion to the cook - Cook the potato wedges like a minute or so longer (the insides were slightly undercooked) and my husbands only complaint was more gravy on the Boxty. Only minor inconveniences, But in all honesty - WE WILL BE BACK!! Support Local!! Can't wait to try this place again soon!
