I enjoyed their peach fritters. The order of fritters that were fried hard was the best. The fritters are more like a dough ball that came with a side of maybe a tablespoon of fresh peach preserves and what seemed to be homemade whip cream. The only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars is they should give you 3 of the peach preserves, one for each fritter. The food was fresh and they have several options. The fritters were worth mentioning.
Outstanding experience. Food so fresh and delicious that it's obvious the cooks take pride in their food. The wait staff was buzzing all over as business was steady. Chelsey was our server and she was spot on with her recommendations. I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich with the biggest chicken chunks and fresh sliced tomato. Every dish my group got was worthy of sharing, fresh and tasty.
Food was worth the wait. Staff was overall pretty friendly, atmosphere was pleasant. We ordered a lavender and dulce iced latte, both were just average. The Hot Tots were interesting. Cornmeal waffles were alright, pretty extreme with the cornmeal texture but the juicy and well fried chicken made up for it, the syrup also helped the dish survive as well. The potato bowl was delicious, my favorite.
That fried rice though. I've been to commune three times now and thoroughly enjoyed myself each time. The fact that everything is made seasonally and sourced locally is a huge attraction for me. I will say that the dishes I've had are a bit oily for my liking, but the flavors are sensational. They offer unique options that are beautiful! Highly recommend a visit here.
They were out of a certain drink and the owner was so kind to offer me another suggestion on the house. Our waitress named Carolina was very pleasant and kept our drinks full while we ate! We love eating here! The menu is unique and delicious.
