The food was good but the service I received was pitiful. There's a fairly large white woman with hair cut short who appeared to be aggravated about serving my family. I'm a tourist, a law abiding black man who was in VA. Beach with his family and decided to dine there. She was unpleasant from the time we arrived. She put us in a place that had very little protection from the sun and even when we made a suggestion to move an umbrella that was in a base with wheels She refused. She was pitiful. We knew she had problems with us personally because immediately another waitress there, replaced the the Large white woman as our server. Now I know the racial climate in this country is rising. People aren't as tolerant as they use to be. However in a service oriented industry, professionalism SHOULD BE of PARAMOUNT importance. The Large white woman employee , I'm speaking of, attended to every WHITE customer in her charge. I'm not mad..it is what it is but my opinion would have much higher if it wasn't for the poor service and pitiful attitude exhibited by the Large, short haired white woman we encountered at this restaurant. It may have been under another name. Maybe Fishers, maybe.
I do not recommend. This is the second time we visited this restaurant. Both times have been bad experiences. This review is based on today's only. The server was good, not so good that I recall his name, but good in his polite manner. There was a 20 minute wait for a table to be cleared. There were tables, just no one to clear one. Once we sat down, we were told they were out of several items, several of which were what my boys were ordering. And the two kicker was that after we ordered the She crab soup... they were out of it. Lastly, my chicken was supposed to be grilled. As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, I can absolutely tell when a chicken breast is deep fried (not breaded or battered mind you, just deep fried). It was the toughest chicken I had ever eaten. And not to mention (but I am)... the bill came to just shy of $200. That is for 6 of us, 2 of which ordered off the kid's menu, and 1 adult drink. As I opened this review, I do NOT recommend this restaurant.
Came in Tuesday night & the bartender was great. He was the only one behind the bar and was still able to check up on us and recommended various things to do in the area. All the drinks were fantastic & timely. Since they've been understaffed, he had mentioned his schedule & honestly props to this bar for having someone as hardworking as him. I really wish I had gotten his name, however being as busy as it was, I wasn't able to. Definitely pay him a visit !
Food was amazing, a bit pricey but as it is any any tourist place. Our server was nice as well! Drinks were a good price. Crab cake burger was fabulous
Worst experience ever. As a VB local I'm embarrassed I brought my family here. The experience was bad from the beginning and got worse as we weren't even greeted until 20 minutes after being seated , then the waiter brought the kids food out with no silverware, by the time the silver ware came the food was cold. Then the waiter brought out the adults food, we asked for salt and pepper...15 minutes go by until that comes out...food cold again. On top of that everybodies food was terrible and very bland tasting. We ask to talk to the manager and the manager did nothing, didn't even apologize for the terrible experience we had and didn't offer a discount. Then she called the police saying we refused to pay the bill. What a terrible experience. I can't believe they would treat people like this. Disgusting. This incident took place on July 12 2021 at 930pm. The manager was a female.
