I owe salad works an apology... I apologize for not trying you sooner 😁 I had the Asian Crispy Chicken salad today and added shrimp, it was great. The dressing recommendation and portion size was great too.. Only thing I recommend is less breading on the chicken, the chicken got lost in it. Also, if you are using canned mandarin oranges, use the ones stored in a glass jar instead or rinse them. Other than that, there's a few more salads I plan to try and I'm glad I payed them a visit.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken Mediterranean Salad, which is described on the menu as being made with their "super greens blend." It was 95% iceberg lettuce, with a few very small pieces of romaine. I ordered it via Doordash, so I called the store when my food arrived. I was told their super greens blend includes iceberg and romaine, as well as spinach and kale. First, I would not consider iceberg or romaine lettuce to be super greens. They are just plain lettuce with virtually no nutritional value. Secondly, my salad had no kale or spinach. As for the toppings, the chicken was like mush and the roasted cauliflower had a terrible flavor. The roasted red peppers tasted like they came out of a jar - not terrible, but not a fresh ingredient. My husband liked his Greek salad, although it was also made with iceberg lettuce. I won't be ordering from them again, and I would not recommend their food, based on my experience. I could have gotten a better pre-made salad at the grocery store, at a lower cost. I've included a screenshot of what they advertise the salad to look like. I've also included a couple of photos of what the salad I received from them looked like.
I love eating at Salata, so I expected a similar experience at Saladworks. It was so disappointing and underwhelming! I ordered a salad, but was then told that I could only get 4 toppings. Each additional topping was $1.29 to $1.49 extra. Even croutons count as a "topping." I actually thought they were kidding when they told me that. My simple salad with basic lettuce (already browning, so not super fresh), tomato, carrots, and cheese ended up costing $12.99. Need more dressing than the little container? Extra $0.99. What a ripoff being nickled and dimed. No thank you, Saladworks...next time I will go to Harris Teeter next door and get the same thing for $4 or go to Salata where my salad customization isn't limited. That place knows how to really make a yummy salad.
Not sure what went wrong here. Placed an online order today, was told that the order would be ready by 1413. Got there at 1435 and there was one person working and she still hadn't started my order. My ONE salad cost $23 - I expected this salad to be amazing. I asked for double the lettuce and spinach to be added. While this salad looks good, it does not look like a $23 salad. The other salad in my order was $15 and my salad looks no different from that.. I won't be back.
They have a lot of options for salads. I had them for delivery and have visited in person and the quality is consistent.
