We were in the area three years ago and visited just a couple of weeks after their grand opening. We were impressed with the food portions, quality of food and service at that visit. We were back in the area and decided we would try it again since we enjoyed it so much in May of 2018. Well the flounder was undercooked, the portions were ridiculously small compared to three years ago, we were charged an up charge for onion rings which we were not informed of when ordering. On a positive note the service was good other than not being informed of the up charge. Don’t waste your time or money at this restaurant.
Enjoyable experience to get to, beautiful setting. Wasn't terribly busy when I went. Plenty of choices and all was better than anticipated. Their special offerings seemed all quite good. Taking the picky folks I was pleasantly surprised they had many options to chose from although I would recommend you stick with the seafood if your going all that way...they do it right. Minor quibble was they didn't have Stella but the food was well worth the ferry ride, which should be noted was also enjoyable. More than happy with the corona on offer. If your across the James on vacation and need a break from the tourist spots...I'd highly recommend the trip to try Surry Seafood House.
The atmosphere, decor and view are awesome. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great and made us some cocktails. I had the surf and turf. Cut was tender but no real flavor. Cooked properly for medium rare. It was a nice day and nice place to stop before our ferry ride
5 out of 5! Best seafood restaurant we had in the area. High recommend! Food was moist and full of favor. Definitely try the Orange Crush drink. Very yummy! Taking the ferry ride over added to the fun meal experience.
The food was good but the wait was too long. Service was spotty.
